About Edgar And Ivy's Cat Sanctuary

Edgar & Ivy’s Cat Sanctuary is a nonprofit feline rescue and adoption center dedicated to saving cats most at risk due to age, illness, injury, disability, abandonment, or euthanasia. We provide medical care, rehabilitation, spay/neuter, vaccinations, and loving shelter while helping cats find safe, permanent homes.

We proudly offer cat adoptions daily through our Petco partner adoption center, making it easy for the community to meet adoptable cats every day. Serving the Coastal Bend and surrounding areas, we work closely with local animal control agencies, veterinarians, and foster homes to improve outcomes for vulnerable cats through responsible rescue and adoption.

This place is amazing and so are the people. I rescued a pregnant mamma cat, didn’t know what to do, I reached out and they were super helpful. They took the babies for me when they were at the right age and also fixed the mama cat for me so I could keep her. They’re AMAZING and I wouldn’t have been able to help the mama cat and her babies without them. Thank you for all yall do in our community.

My husband and I are huge cat lovers. Thats why when we found a cat in poor health at our apartment complex (we named him Mango), we brought him here. He was brought in with mange, wounds all over his body, malnourished, and missing fur. Mango was very clearly in pain and we knew we had to act fast when we discovered him curled up in a ball for two days under a bush. He was about to give up. My husband called Edgar & Ivy's and they told us to bring Mango in. We left him in their care for a few weeks, and by the time it came to pick him up and return him to his colony, Mango was a totally different cat! He had gained weight, his fur began to grow back, and his wounds were healed. His energy levels were up and he was much more social and trusting when we approached. He even began to be a bit affectionate. Though Mango wasn't our cat and we didnt have a personal bond with him, Edgar & Ivy's treated Mango like he was our own and gave him the treatment he needed to really blossom. The people here are very caring and have a huge heart for animals. If youre looking for somewhere to bring a kitty in need of help, I absolutely recommend coming to Edgar & Ivy's Cat Sanctuary 🩷

Edgar And Ivy's has always been the best. I brought two orphaned newborn kittens there as I did not have the resources available to care for them in a household with existing adult cats. The lady on the phone was clear it was a $50 surrender fee and also made it clear that they would still take the cats regardless if I had the funds or not. I was able to make a $75 payment for surrender. This place has helped so many cats in our community, even when their resources were stretched to the limit. I have never had a bad experience.

About a year ago, my coworkers found a litter of kittens in the trash compactor area at our job site. At the time, I didn’t know about Edgar and Ivy’s Sanctuary, so I reached out to some local Facebook rescue groups for help. Unfortunately, I was immediately told by several people that I was doing things the wrong way. Instead of feeling supported for trying to help, I felt judged and discouraged. Then someone recommended that I contact Edgar and Ivy’s Sanctuary, so I did. The difference was immediate. I was simply told to bring the kittens to them, no questions asked, no guilt, and no shaming for trying to help. They were focused on the kittens and on helping me find them a safe place. I was informed of the $50 surrender fee, which I was more than happy to pay because I knew it would help in some way toward caring for the animals. That interaction really showed me the difference between people who are willing to criticize someone for trying to help and people who are genuinely there to help their community. It wasn’t until after that experience that I learned about SB Mowing and his encounter with Edgar and Ivy’s. Hearing that story only reinforced what I had already experienc

We adopted our 2 cats Gretel and Kiwi from here and are both very loved! We had a great experience getting to bring these babies home to love and care for and the adoption process was smooth and quick. They love every one of the cats and kittens they have at their shelter no doubt! We definitely would go back to adopt again in the future!
